Who can apply?
Any team may submit an application during the registration window. The St. Paul Cash Spiel is a curated bonspiel — the field is selected from the applicant pool based on WCF World Team Ranking points. See how teams are chosen for the full selection rules.
Can I see which teams have applied?
Yes — The Field lists the teams playing this year, by division, along with any alternates. Selection is complete, so the list no longer moves when the rankings change.
How is the field seeded?
Event seeding starts from WCF World Team Ranking points; ties — and teams without ranking points — are ordered by who applied earlier. A preliminary seeding is published first, marked subject to change, so teams can flag anything that looks off. The final seeding, which pool play is drawn from, is locked on September 23, 2026, from the Week 7 WCF World Team Ranking. Once published, your seed appears on The Field. Questions about your seed? Email info@cashspiel.com before the final seeding is published.
Where do I find my team's schedule?
The Draw has the full schedule — sheets, draw times, and matchups. Use the team lookup at the top to pull just your team's games, or print the posting sheet to save as a PDF.
Is registration still open?
No — registration is closed for this year and the field is set. See the field for the teams playing.
How much does it cost?
The fee is $1,000 USD per team. Payment is collected after you've been selected and confirmed — not when you submit your application. The published payment deadline was September 2, 2026; teams confirmed after it are given a date when they're selected.
Is this a USA Curling Nationals qualifier?
No. The 2026 event is not a USAC National Championship qualifier. Champions of each division earn official WCF World Team Ranking points and an automatic play-through invitation to the GSOC National (Sydney, NS — November 17–22, 2026). See the rules for the full Grand Slam qualification chain.
Does the event award ranking points?
Yes — St. Paul Cash Spiel is a sanctioned World Curling Tour satellite event, and top finishers earn official WCF World Team Ranking points based on their placement at the event. Does a deep run count toward the Grand Slam Players' Cup?
Yes — new for the 2026–27 season. The Grand Slam of Curling awards Slam Pointstoward Players' Cup qualification, and St. Paul Cash Spiel — as a satellite — carries them for teams that reach the playoffs: 5 for a quarterfinal, 9 for a semifinal, 14 for runner-up, and 20 for the champion. Only your six best Slam Point events count (Grand Slams and satellites combined), so a strong week here can be one of them. These are separate from the WCF World Team Ranking points above — Slam Points go toward the Players' Cup, while ranking points feed selection and your world ranking. What if I can't pay by the deadline?
Reach out to the bonspiel chair at info@cashspiel.com as soon as you know — we'd rather work with you than release your spot. If a confirmed team's payment isn't received by the deadline, the spot may be offered to the next team on the waitlist.
What if I need to withdraw or change my roster?
Entry fees are non-refundable after a team's registration has been confirmed — full terms live on the refund policy page. Roster changes after selection should be reported to the chair as soon as possible; significant changes may affect tour eligibility for the event.
Can I review the terms before applying?
Yes — both are public pages, no application required. Read the full Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy any time. When you do apply, the registration form asks you to agree to both before you can submit.
Where and when is the event held?
The event runs October 8–11, 2026 at the Saint Paul Curling Club in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Practice ice is available the evening before; see the rules for pace-of-play, format, and DSC details.
